Swiss Roll Escargot Treats

Drive-by birthday parties, and outside events are becoming quite popular this year! If you were conceptualizing outdoor theme concepts, how about a garden celebration? The kids can embellish the driveway with chalk butterflies, snails and flowers, and you can draw out some darling Swiss roll escargot deals with! They are no-bake, and will not require a lot of time in the kitchen area, but the kids will get a big kick out of snacking on the little snails. I am quite sure this is the only variation of “escargot” that my kids would consider tasting. Me too, if Im honest!

what you require:

Swiss cake rolls
Salt water taffy
Black nonpareils sprinkles
White sprays
Toothpick
Knife
Wax paper

Step 2Use the end of a toothpick to poke small eye sockets in the snail head, and small holes on top for antennae. Place your black Nonpareils sprinkles in the eye sockets, and white sprinkles on top. Improve the snail head or body if essential.

Action 4Flatten the bottom of your taffy snake by pushing it down a bit. Set a slice of Swiss cake roll on the taffy near the non-bulbous end, and cover the bulbous end up around the roll. Press them together up until they stick, so the taffy head is standing up a bit. Place the snail in the fridge on a piece of wax paper.

IDEA: Leave the snails in the fridge until party time, as the taffy loses its shape if it warms up too much. Be sure to position the snails exactly where you desire them once they are off the wax paper.

Step 3You might desire to cool your Swiss cake rolls for a bit prior to cutting. Utilize a knife to cut a Swiss roll cake into about 1/2″ large slices.

Step 1Wash your hands completely! Roll a piece of salt water taffy into a ball. Roll the ball into a snake, leaving one end a little bulbous. The taffy softens and becomes easier to deal with as it warms in your hands.

Your kid-friendly “escargot” is all set to consume! Take pleasure in!
